Antique New York Central street car hat badge that measures 3 3/4" x 1 1/2", has blue enamel with slight chipping due to age and has a gunmetal chain.

The badge is marked – “New York Central, New York Central System, Asst. Station Master”. This is a seldom seen badge from this railroad with an uncommon occupation. Assistant Station Master’s were only employed at the large city stations, such as Buffalo, NY, Albany, NY, New York, NY, Cleveland, OH, Chicago, IL, and Detroit, MI, since there was only the need for a sole Station Agent at the smaller stations. The New York Central Railroad was in existence from 1914 to 1968 and served the towns of Buffalo, Batavia, Rochester, Syracuse, Rome, Utica, Herkimer, Schenectady, Albany, and New York City in NY, Erie in PA, Cleveland and Toledo in OH, Detroit in MI, Elkhart in IN, Chicago in IL, and many more.
